Question:
How Much Will A Breast Lift/Enlargement Cost?
I've been looking into having a breast augmentation performed-I've nursed a baby, so I'm pretty sure I'll need a lift as well! I've gone from a 42D to a 34B/C (B's are a tiny bit too small, C's are a tiny bit too big). Anyway, I've been trying to price a boob job and it's kind of hard-a lot of plastic surgeon's don't list their prices, which I'm sure has to do with they have to see what they're working with on an individual basis and therefore there's no way for them to give a blanket fee. However, even though I understand that, I want to be able to get an idea how much I need to save on a monthly basis for the next year or so to be able to get this done! Since there aren't any PS in my area AT ALL, I would have to travel-otherwise, I'd go and get an "estimate" done on me tomorrow. There's just nowhere to check this out locally. I would either be traveling to Orlando to do it, as that's where I'm from (hubby is in the Army) or I'd go to Texas, which is reasonably close by. (a few hours) I don't know if WHERE I get the surgery done makes a difference with the price, so I included that for y'all's reference. So. Basically, I would be seeking to have a breast enlargement/lift in the Florida/Texas areas, going from a 34 full B to a full D, preferably. Anyone out there have all this done? How much am I looking at? Thanks! — jenn_jenn (posted on June 13, 2004)

I live in Texas. Went to Mexico for plastics. Had a breast lift but no
implants. Plastics are expensive in Texas. From what I've read recently,
prices in Florida are better than Texas. Try the yahoo ossg-reconstructive
surgery message board for more information.

I have heard that Florida has some of the lowest prices in the US. I am
from Washington state and implants under the muscle cost arount 4,500$.

My PS will charge me (total including surgery center and anesthesia costs)
$12,800 for a lift, implants, and arm skin removal, which in my case is
extensive. I did price out just the cost of the arm surgery and it would
run about $5600 because it would not be done as a secondary procedure. I
thought this was a ton of money, but when I saw a 2nd PS I got a price
quote very similar but the only difference was he would offer a 10% price
redution for cash payment. Just the implants alone were priced at $1100.
I'm thinking I could fill some ziploc bags for a lot less and give him
those to implant. LOL I'm not sure if I will end up doing any of it. I
will complete the leg work late this year and then reevaluate next year
based on how things have settled down and also finances. My surgeon is in
Green Bay, WI.

The ASPS has collected data on procedures since 1984. That includes
average fees, based on 17,000 plastic surgeons queried. My experience is
there is way more individual variability in price than geographic
variability. And remember, the hospital fees also vary widely. Best
source for fee info in my opinion is at

Ooops, forgot to mention that much of the price depends on the anesthesia
(is it a physician or nurse anesthetist putting you to sleep and waking you
up?) and the facility type (an office, surgery center, or hospital?) You
will usually pay more for physicians doing your cases at fully equipped
hospitals.
