Is this for after surgery? If so the hospital provide this for you. You do not need to worry about this. If they told you to go gt one, check out Lane bryant support Breif and get a size that will be tight tight on you now. You will be wearing it 24/7 for a short time.

I got mine at a speciality store. they will fit you properaly. i had 3 corrsets.ticght tigher and tightest. the tight one was put on in sx and the smaller sizes with in a week. alo the girdle should be down to above your knee for a smooth even look. you dont want the pockets of fat and fluid to pool around a panty line. my sx was in august in south america....talk about hot!!! All the best Tracey

My surgeon determined the size.

I woke up from surgery with mine on. Most hospitals provide this for you. Ask your surgeon.

I ordered mine online from www.carrothersltd.com I got two from them for LESS than the price that one would cost from my surgeon. I talked to the lady on the phone, Jan, and she helped me know what size I would need. She works directly with plastic surgeons as well as their patients. By the way, I've been very happy with my garments. Good luck! Oh, I have an abdominal binder that I never used if anyone needs it, email me. It also came from carrothersltd and it's still in the bag.

Depends on whether you are talking for after WLS or PS. I had just an abdominal binder after WLS that was put on me during surgery. They also sent me home with a 2nd one so they could be washed. After my first PS, LBL, my surgeon did not want me in a compression garment right away because of the extensive amount of work I had done. He was concerned about the the incisions starting to heal well without the trauma of pulling something across them. But I got a full length one at 10 days. It goes from my calves to just under my breasts. It is a stage one garment that has hooks on it then zippers over it. A stage one garment causes the least amount of trauma across scars. I was wearing size 14 and 16's right after the LBL yet I needed a sizw 2X in a compression garment. I was shocked. I just had the 2nd stage of my abdominoplasty on Monday and extensive lipo on my legs and I came out of surgery with the same type of garment on, but I'm not sure if it's the same size or not. I suspect it's at least a 1X since most of my body had shrunk down 2 sizes since the first PS. I'll find out when I go to wash this one and put the other one on. There isn't a size printed on the garment. The bottom line is, tighter isn't always better if it cuts off or reduces blood supply to the area. It doesn't take much for compression to provide some swelling control. So please discuss with your surgoen before buying anything.
