Question:
WW Points
I saw positive remarks to joining Weight Watchers post op. To those that have joined, how are they figuring your points? I would assume they are less as you hold less? I am not going to rejoin but am considering using the materials from the last time I had to get my weight back on track. Thanks in advance — lessofme170 (posted on February 21, 2004)

You are lucky to have materials from the last time. I was in it around
three times PRE OP. But this was back in the 80's. I'd love to have access
to some materials but I'm not going to pay the outrageous price they now
charge per week! But if I was, I'd definately be honest about my wls.
I'm interested how they would rate the points for that. But they never had
the points when I was in, so I'm really not sure how that works.

I didnt tell them I had surgery. I am over three years post and close to
'goal' I had no trouble eating my 'points. for a woman 140 or less the
points are 20 a day with 35 week 'extra' 150 - 170 was 22 and 35...

I can't answer your question aboout points. However, our bariatric
coordinator at the hospital where I had my surgery said that she heard that
WW is developing a program for post-ops.

They will not calculate points on the basis of your surgery. As someone
who is 206 pounds, I'm allowed 26 points a day...it may seem like a lot,
but honestly, the higher protein foods I eat use up alot of my points, so I
hit my point goal nearly every day.
