Many people on this site are personally boycotting Dr. Phil and his
products because of his position on WLS. He believes that people who have
this surgery are taking the easy way out. He recently had a woman who had
wls surgery on his show when he made this statement. He then proudly
paraded a woman who had lost a significant amount of weight with his
products while ignoring the women who had wls. It just angers me that he is
trying to sell his snake oil as a cure all for obesity.

No need to be sorry, you were just trying to help out!
Just some people think Dr. Phil's attitude sucks....lol
I have to agree, though I am really pulling for the people on his weight
loss challenge since I know how it is!

I really like some of the products that are offered at www.wlssuccess.com.
For cans, I particularly like the Ultra Pure Protein drinks by MetRx--You
can find them locally too.. And for Powders I like Sci Fit, they have a
great taste with out any after taste and are very low on carbs.

It's always great to find protein drinks that low in sugar and high in
protein, even if it is endorsed by Dr Phil. Maybe, he should try them! He
used to criticize
the use of such products for weight loss, until he put his name on them
himself. Money talks! I no longer watch Dr Phil, since he belittles all
gastric bypass pateints. I find him to be a pompous ass! Just my opinion.
Although, I'm sure he has been called worse. By the way, Carb Solutions
have 21 grams protein/1 gram sugar/2 net carbs in 11 ozs. I love it! I'd
rather see someone else get richer than Dr Phil. 2//11/03....250/142/134

Big time fan of Dr. Phil here! By the way, he explained his comment on
another show. He does not think WLS is the 'easy' way out. He didn't want
anyone to THINK it was the easy way out. And I have to say I totally
admire an obese person who strugles with a diet and is successful. I for
one NEVER had such will power or strength. Gonna run right out now and buy
his drinks. LOVE Dr. Phil!!!!!

i dislike dr phil, he is so anti-wls. i am glad you are enjoying his
products however i would never purchase anything that would benefit him in
any way, even if they are good.

I have to agree with you... Dr. Phil's Shape Up shakes are good. I have
only tried the chocolate and it is oh so yummy... by far the best one I
have tried yet. Regardless of what anyone else thinks, I will still buy
them. The money that is coming out of my pocket is ALWAYS going into
someone elses anyway, so I should buy a product that tastes good to me. I
buy mine at Walmart for just a little over $6. I also found another great
product at Walmart over the weekend. It is called CARB COUNTDOWN
"dairy beverage." It tastes like a rich chocolate milk. It also
comes in white milk too. I bought that, but have not tried it yet. It is
100 calories per cup, calories from fat=40, total fat=4.5 gr, sat fat=2.5
gr,cholesterol=25mg,sodium=350 mg,total carbohydrate=3gr,dietary
fiber=1gr,suger=2g,protein=12g. I paide about 2.35 per1/2 gallon and it is
well worth it!

I agree with those of you that like DR. Phil. The others will find anything
to complain about. I've yet to meet someone that I agree 100% with. We are
only human and just because you may disagree with one point doesn't mean
you dislike everything about them. That's closed minded. Then again, for
those people like this, they will probably dislike me because they disagree
with one point I've made. Oh well, I won't lose any sleep over it...I will
be thankful that I for one, am not as close minded and negative as some of
you are.

I think it is all just a matter of opinion not anyone being close-minded.
Like I said I do watch his weight-loss shows, I am really pulling for those
people but then again I disagree with some things he has to say. Everyone
is different and I accept that 100%!

Interesting. Most answers here have to do with Dr. Phil and not the
product. So..here goes. I find that most of the time Dr. Phil hits a
nerve and people don't like it. We all have issues to deal with or we
wouldn't have been so overweight as to require this surgery. He just puts
them in your face and forces you to deal with them without the consequences
of the surgery. I can not eat myself out of bored, sad, lonely, depressed
or anthing else any longer. I have to work through these problems and deal
with them so that they do not have control over my eating. I do not want to
re-gain anything I have lost through RNY. I do not always agree with his
line of thinking, I don't have too. Everyone must face their demons and
defeat them in their manner. That is what I pray for all us struggling with
weight problems. Best of luck to all. LAP RNY 8-28-02 down 119 lbs

**ORIGINAL POSTER HERE**
I really didn`t want to start a debate about dr. phill i saw him a few
years ago i think on oprah, and he is tactless and in your face , but
everyone has a right to their own opinions right? i just wanted to let
everyone know there was a shake that actually tastes good....lol i have
spent alot of money looking for a shake i can tolerate and this one was
good bottom line, the shakes are good.
how dr. phill feels about wls, or anyone else is their business,i talked to
my mom about this last night told her everything i had looked up on him
after this thread started, that he was promoting a book and products and a
whole weight loss thing, and she says,dr. phill is fat isn`t he??? lol i
said he is not a slim man and he does have a huge head...lol but i couldn`t
call him fat, husky maybe, she can`t stand him either and i am no fan,but i
do agree that being obese does come from alot more than eating, i do
believe that there are always underlying issues to deal with at least for
me anyway....well i guess i am done,last words.....i don`t care for dr.
phill`s views but have to respect that everyone has the right to disagree,
but the shakes are good:)
