Question:
Anyone tried Mike's Low Carb Gourmet Meals?
Hi everyone- I saw a new (to me) product in the supermarket today called Mike's Low Carb Gourmet Dinners. The boxes were labeled between 7-14 net carbs and there were 4 or 5 different varieties, including eggplant lasagna, meatloaf dinner and salmon dinner. They sold for $6.99 per meal :o( Has anyone tried them? I will probably try them if they go on sale but I thought they might be good for early post-ops. Thanks, Mea :o) — Mea A. Mea,
I haven't seen these in the stores yet... but I did find their website at
www.lowcarbgourmet.com
Their meals look delicious, seem to be great for us as far as protein and
carbs go, and I hope to find them in local grocery stores soon. Thanks for
the info.

I have found that Wal Mart sells a brand called Chef's Choice. There are
usually around 33-40 grams of protein and minimal carbs. Wonderful for
those of us with BPD/DS. I haven't checked the sugar count on these except
I believe the Beef Stew version had 7g of sugar. I don't pay attention to
the sugars so much because of the procedure difference. Hope this can help
someone.

I just bought the eggplant lasagna, but haven't tried it yet. I'll let ya
know how it tastes. I did try the low-carb cheesecake. It wasn't bad. It
needed to be a little sweeter. It was excellent topped with low-carb or no
sugar added fruit spread!

They did look good on that website, but $8 - 10 each!? They'd better clear
the table and do the dishes for that!
