Question:
Anyone experience permanent nerve damage after a Thigh Lift?
I had a thigh lift in May and have experienced severe pain in my right leg which radiates up my butt and right side of my back. My leg is also painful to the touch (it even hurts to shave the upper part of my thigh). Has anyone else had a thigh lift and experienced or heard of permanent nerve damage that can happen? I was told that I will have to live with this for the rest of my life and I want to know if I am the only one that this has happened to. Thank you, Mary Beth — Beffy W. (posted on November 7, 2003)

I have heard of this before, but in the case of my friend the nerve damage
was caused by antibiotics. And the doctor also told her it is permanent
damage. I think you can have injections to help temporarily relieve the
pain.

I didn't have a thigh lift, but i had a breast biopsy in '98. I havr a
1" scar on the left side of my left breast. After the surgery my
breast healed, but I experienced severe sensitivity and pain in that
breast, particularly in the nipple area. It was so bad that I went back to
the surgeon twice and he could find no reason for it.There were times I
couldn't let my bra touch it. I attribute it to nerve trauma from the
nerves being cut during the surgery. Now, 5 years later it is not painful
day to day, but it is uncomfortable when touched. I think that this is an
unfortunate possibility that can occur after a surgery. Hopefully yours
will get more managable with time!
