Question:
What Federal insurers are plastic surgery friendly?
I am a federal employee and we will be having open enrollment for insurance coming up. I am wondering which insurers cover plastic surgery as I will want to have a tt and breast lift next year. — akrecord (posted on September 27, 2003)

if possible, independent health virtually always covers reconstructive
surgery after a bypass. I am also a federal employee-preop, how receptive
to the surgery was your dept?

I can attest to that as well. Independent health covers all necessary
reconstructive surgery after gastric bypass. people in my support group are
getting EVERYTHING covered. breasts, tummy, arms, butts and thighs. It is
unbelievable. they are just getting approved with no fights.

Never heard of this one. Is this a FEDERAL GOVERNMENT plan for employees
of the federal government? Could you provide the full name of the plan.
I'm guessing it might be a regional plan, i.e. only available in certain
states/locations. It's not shown on the OPM.gov page with my zip code
listed.

Kept looking and Independent Health is only available in NY State. Guess
moving there for plastics might not be an option for me at this point...

I have Bc/Bs PPO Fed as well as a friend of mine. She had a breast lift not
to long ago. I am hoping when my time comes for a TT that I will not have
any problems either.
