Question:
Lipo of Thighs
Anyone who had a TT and lipo on hips and flanks, I would like to know if you can see a big differance in you hips from the lipo? I'm having a hernia repair and TT covered by HealthNet on Dec. 9th, The hips have been denied, so for $3,500 he'll do lipo on hips does that cover any flab on my sides or back? How's does that price sound? My hips aren't any more out of wack than the rest of me. If I don't have the lipo will my skin sag more??? Thanks all, Sandi May 20, 02 -170 lbs — Sandra B. Your profile doesn't say what you weighed to start or how old you are and
those are important factors. I have had consultations with 2 different
plastic surgeons and both said lipo is not the answer for me on the outter
thighs. They both said they would make an incision above and below the
saddlebags and completely remove that area. One charged $5475 and the other
$4500. This was their fee and the surgical room fee together. So your price
for lipo alone seems about right.

I had a total TT (upside down anchor) and liposuction of my outer thighs 2
weeks ago. My BCBS paid for the TT, but I had to pay for the lipo. I had
those huge saddle-bags on the outer hips and had to pay $1845 out-of-pocket
at the University of Michigan Medical Center (and things aren't cheap
here!) However, I do know that in this area (Ann Arbor, Michigan), full
liposuction of the inner and outer thighs does run around $3,000. As for
making the sagging skin worse, I was told that yes it would.....I still
opted for the lipo because I wanted to get some of the bulk out of my ugly
thighs/rear-end so I could wear a smaller size jeans. I always had to buy
a size larger that my legs and waist needed to accomodate the outer
thighs/saddle-bags. I'm still swollen, but I can definitely tell a
difference. The best part is that they didn't have to do the two small
incisions on each thigh. They went in at the hip at the end of my TT
incision and went downward to my outer thighs. They took 750 cc (which is
a pint and a half) from each thigh. Good luck to you!

I had lipo on my hips, buttocks, flanks, stomach, the whole lower body
about 4 years ago. I noticed a difference, and I still do. No side saddle
bags anymore. I also noticed much more cellulite, which is a result of the
liposuction technique.
