Question:
Anyone familiar with Designer Whey GlycerLEAN
Hello everyone. I was wondering about this product. I have been using GNC 100% Whey and On's 100% Hydro Whey, but wanted a change. I went to GNC and bought this because I have a gold card. It is the GlycerLEAN line (Malted Muscles). I understand it is a time-released formula. I have heard we do not handle time-release very well post-op. I also thought I read something on this question list once about the time-released formulas just having larger molecules. They were actually okay to use. Does this sound familiar to anyone, or does anyone know about this? I'd hate for this to be ineffective for me. I can take it back, but it tastes okay. I added the Northwest Berry syrup to it and it was decent, rich and creamy. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Kim — Kim K. (posted on September 5, 2003)

This is the same stuff (GlycerLean) that Next Proteins puts in the Detour,
One Way and U-Turn bars. The way it was explained to me by the company
rep is that the GlycerLean has larger molecules which delays the digestion
process. I asked them specifically about absorption in post-GB patients
and they assured me that there should be no absorption issues for us with
the GlycerLean ingredient...JR

I not a scientist nor a doctor, but I use GlycerLean, and really like it. I
have used nearly a whole large container of it now, and had no adverse
effects. I like the consistancy of it, and the taste (I have the vanilla,
and plan on trying all of the flavors). I have a pretty heavy work-out plan
and don't know for a fact that the GlycerLean is helping, but it sure isn't
hurting me! My muscle mass is going up and my fat loss is getting better
all the time. Good luck!

Thanks guys!! I thought I had read somewhere that it would be okay, just
wanted to make sure. I don't eat the bars so I don't have any experience
with this brand.
Shelli: Thanks for the tip. I've only ordered off the net once, and it was
Vitalady. I'm always afraid I'll never see my stuff.LOL I'll have to check
them out. Again, thanks... Kim

They way that this is made is grat for people with normal digestion &
absorption ability. I would not use it myself, because it would not get
enough exposure to digestive components. I probably would not recommend it
to any bypass or BPD type patient. The bioavailability would be
questionable for our population. It would be fine for bands, or normies, of
course.
