Why not? Hot dogs are an early food in the soft stage and garlic is fine
too. Keep in mind that your taste buds might change after surgery and they
may no longer be your favs. I had hot dogs at 3 weeks post-op, no skin of
course.

Yep. I don't see any problem with either. I have an occasional hot dog,
and because they're ground meat, they're pretty easy to digest. An earlier
poster is right about your tastes changing, but I actually prefered more
flavor in my food after surgery, so I was quite early on adding more
spices, herbs and hot sauce to my food, and I never had any problems with
it.

Garlic is a staple in our house. I prefer the smell of garlic to almost
anything else. We eat hot dogs, salami, but it has to be Hebrew national,

Sure! I eat Ziegles and love them! I've never tried the Hebrew ones. I
wanted to but they were so expensive. In fact most dogs are so I don't eat
many for that reason plus they have so much fat in them.

I eat just about everything now, and seasonings don't seem to make a
difference too much. We ate Mexican last night, fajitas, no tortillas, and
lite on the beans and rice!!! I think though, if anything about the hot
dogs would bother you, it might be the fat as the others have mentioned.

I eat hot dogs on accasion, as stated before they have alot of fat so it is
a once every few months I'll have one on 1/2 a bun. I eat garlic every day,
couldn't cook without it. I also at all kinds of spicy things, enjoy them
and have had no problems.

I dont see why you couldnt have them. But remember, your taste change
after surgery. Like it today, hate it tomorrow. I only ate Hebrew National
hot dogs before surgery now I have 1 maybe once every 2 or 3 months. They
just seem yucky to me now. ~Sidney~ Open RNY 10-23-02 down 115

I am still pre-op, so I don't know the answer, but I wanted to make a
comment to you and to Diane's comment. Hebrew National makes a fat free
hot dog that I wat as a pre-op. They each have 50 calories and they taste
pretty good. I eat them on lite wheat buns, but I don't know if you are
able to tolerate breads.
