Question:
Does your pouch take a while to
I am five months PO - RNY. I try to drink at least 16 oz. of water before breakfast and then wait 15 minutes before eating. I notice that when I first drink anything in the morning, I feel some discomfort in my tummy, although the same amount of liquid later in the day does not cause discomfort. I feel like my pouch takes a while to "wake up". Does anyone else have this sensation? What've you found to be the gentlest thing to put in your tummy in the mornings? — gamboge (posted on June 24, 2003)

Sometimes nasal mucus builds up in the pouch over night and it becomes a
bit plugged. Try something warm like tea, that helps.

My mornings are the same way and im 9mo. post-op. I drink
something(sip)right away and wait a good 1-2 hours before breakfast and I
have to start off slow and by afternoon im munching non-stop. Good luck!

Even as a pre-op, until my tummy wakes up, I could go hours without eating
and not miss it. But once I feed it, its off and running for the day! I
find that putting something warm into it to start works best. For me, 1
scrambled egg with melted cheese is my morning start. Its warm and soft.

It always takes some time for my pouch to "wake up" in the
morning. I think this is normal!

This may sound crazy...but, the first thing I want in the morning is a
sugar free popcicle. Then in about 30 minutes I have scrambled egg and
cheese.
