Question:
I had Aetna for LAP RNY changing Insurance because of job to BCBS

Want to get TT and maybe upper body lift. Has anyone else changed insurance and had plastic surgery approved? I mean as far as TT? And with BCBS. Thanks for any input you can give me. I had just the opposite. I had BCBS for my RNY and was just approved for my TT with BCBS when I left my job. My new insurance was Aetna. I submitted a copy of my 'approval' from BCBS along with the new paperwork to Aetna (new meaning I had moved and got a new plastic surgeon) Aetna approved my TT and paid for it NO problem. No appeal. Actually it was easier the 'second' time around I had appealed with BCBS to level two to get the TT. Just because you didnt have the original surgery with one company doesnt mean the future surgeries arent covered. Its 'medical necessity' not who did what
