Question:
Can anyone share their experiences on getting BCBS to pay for TT and breast lift?
I have BCBS Community Blue PPO and want to know if anyone has had difficulties in getting their tummy tuck approved? How long did it take for a decision from BCBS? Anyone had success getting a breast lift approved? Thanks in advance for any help you may provide. — Priscilla H. (posted on June 2, 2003)

I recently was approved by BCBS of Michigan, Traditional PPO, for a TT. I
had no problems the Dr office handled it. I had a breast reduction years
ago and they also paid for that no problem. I have not asked them for a
breast lift. Unless you have significant impairment as a result of your
weight loss, they will probably not cover it. They tend to cover reductions
because of the limitations and dicomfort it causes. Good luck, Kathy

I just got approved for abdominoplasty surgery last week. I have BC/BS of
Florida Health Options (HMO). I was originally denied but I appealed their
decision. Let me first tell you that it must be medically necessary. If
you want a copy of my appeal letter email me at [email protected]
