Question:
Knox gelatin for nails - anyone know if the protein is good?
Desperately seeking protein alternatives that are not too expensive and are easy to take. I remembered Knox gelatin for nails and thought I'd look at it - I was surprised to find it has only 40 cals and 7 grams of protein. And mixed up its only half a cup of liquid. I can do that! Anyone know if this is an okay "supplement" to our other proteins? Oh, btw.. some sugar (I don't dump tho) but most of the sweetness is from nutrasweet. — Anne R. (posted on April 12, 2003)

Anne--Ingesting gelatin won't do much for you because gelatin
contains few essential amino acids. Basically, it's useless protein.
But, you can buy nail polish type stuff that is enriched with gelatin.
Placed on your nails directly, it will help to strengthen them.
