Question:
Does an abdominoplasty remove
I am just wondering if an abdominoplasty will remove the love-handles and excess fat around my waist in the back. I have lost 160 lbs in the past year and I have excess fat/skin (mainly fat, rather than just hanging skin) all around my middle and I'm hoping an abdominoplasty won't leave my stomach flat but my back still fat. Also, does an abdominoplasty improve, in any way, the inner thighs and buttocks? Thanks so much! — Mary W. (posted on April 4, 2003)

Only a PS can look at you and evaluate what you need and in how many
surgeries they can accomplish it. Sounds to me like you need a total lower
body lift. If you have fat in your backside you will have do some lipo to
remove it. My tummy tuck had an incision that went hip to hip (smiley
incision) and then also around my back at my waist. They did lipo to my
backside first and then did the main surgery. It tightened up my back,
hips, upper butt, and of course my tummy. The second part of a lower body
lift (LBL) is an inner thigh lift. I haven't had this one. But that one
will take care of the upper thigh area. I'm not sure about major butt area
problems. With the surgery I had (without the thigh lift) I really was
pleased with the result but didn't have any hanging skin in my butt area.
Hope this helps.

It so depends on who/how, how many of "us" they've done. Mine
did take away the back, and snugged up the thighs a little. But they work
on no one BUT our kind.
