Catherine, see if you can find Isopure zero carb. Your local vitamin shop
or GNC should have it. It comes in 20 0z glass bottles and looks like
koolaid with flavors like blue rasberry and apple melon. Each bottle has
40 grams of protein in it. As an early post-op food can be difficult (that
will get better) but for now you need to get some nutrition. I used to
take a whole day to drink one of those bottle, cutting it with water to
dilute it. Just try your best. Don't worry right now about how much you
can eat, that will get better as time goes by.

Are you trying to gain wt? Liquid grazing on sugar would certainly do it.
But perhaps I walked into the middle of a conversation? If you are trying
to lose, perhaps they meant to have consumed XX oz of water every hour?
Surely not liquid grazing??

Catherine, I know you are not hungry, but you will have to try and force
yourself to eat or drink. I was never on a liquid diet, but from what you
wrote you were told how to eat (one ounce every hour). I'm thinking the
doctor means soup or other liquid foods (sugar free CIB (or other protein
supplement if you are on this) and your water is separate. You should
clarify with the doctor. I don't like drinking my water and now that I try
to get in more than 64 ounces a day it is hard. Try things like sitting
down with 12 to 16 ounces every hour determined to finish it and try to
make it a goal. You've had complications and you don't want to have added
complications from not drinking enough water like constipation or
dehydration. Good luck!

The first thing I ate when I came home was 1/4 of a sugar free jello
container. It took me all day to get that down. Every day I ate a
"little" more. Try sugar free popsicles, after a few more days a
little bit (couple sips) of chicken broth. Take it easy and a little bit at
a time and eventually you'll be fine. Open RYN 2/13/03 down 41 pounds
