At two weeks post-op I was still on clear liquids just moving on to puree.
Your pouch is still healing and you should be careful what you put in it.
What you are eating sounds like an awful lot to me but everyone is
different. What does you doctor say tou should be eating? At three months
post-op I can eat about 3 oz of cottage cheese, 1/2 cup of soup and maybe 3
oz of chicken in three seperate sittings. Hope this helps. **kelly

At two weeks out I was barely on solid foods. I could not eat chicken or
really any solid meats until about 6 weeks out. I had nausea every day for
the first 3 months. Most meals were about 2-3 teaspoons...there was no way
I could have a cup of anything at one time. I, personally, was not able to
tolerate these types of foods until about 6-8 weeks out, but that's me. I
did not feel hunger until about month 5 post-op. At the time I HATED
having the constant nausea, but now I'm actually grateful...it helped me in
my weight loss (although I wouldn't wish it on anyone) I still can't eat
more than 2.5 ozs. of something like chicken at one time. Everyone is
different...just relating my particular story. Joy (-96 lbs. at 9 months
out....20 lbs. to goal)

I am like you! But dont worry....I'm now 5 months post op and down 100
lbs... I CAN eat "ALOT" at one sitting- always have been able to,
but I DID take the advice of another poster, and I STOP at the amount of
what is "normal" for other post ops...I will eat 4oz of chicken
instead of the 8 oz that I know will"fit" (and have eaten
before)I find that a half hour latr I AM satisfied with that amount of
food. Maybe we just need to re-train our brains?!.....

I was a little hungry in the beginning, but I think that was more head
hunger and from being cooped up in the house and watching food commercials
all day. I didn't start feeling real hunger until about 6months post-op.
Luckily, you are able to tolerate almost everything, that's how I was and
still am pretty much. It's a very good thing, but I do agree with the
previous posters, you really shouldn't be eating solid foods yet. I was on
full liquid diet for the 1st month. Then soft foods like yogurt, soft
cheeses, mashed potatoes, soups, etc for the 2nd month. I was even allowed
to eat salad or raw veggies until month 3. Although you can tolerate it,
doesn't necessarily mean you should eat it yet, b/c your tummy is still
healing and it's very important to let that process happen. So, try to stay
with softer foods and liquids for now, this is the hard part, but it's
worth it, you will eat good food eventually! Goodluck

I was famished the day after surgery until about 2.5 weeks postop. I am
only 31 days postop but the hunger has gone away. I was afraid I could eat
too much too. I only started to feel full in the past 1.5 weeks and every
day I seem to get full quicker and have less hunger.

I don't necessarily think it sounds like "TOO MUCH"....more than
many people, but if you can handle it....I only suggest that you follow the
amounts your doctor has told you...My doc said 2 oz at a meal for the first
6 weeks, 3 oz's for the next 6 weeks, and more from there...Also, it really
takes 6 weeks for your new pouch to heal completely, so I would be careful
with the chicken breast and cucumber skin and pickle skin...these things
are very hard to break down, and could damage your new tummy. Cottage
cheese and pea soup are good food choices...So, stick to your doc's orders
(even if you can handle more)...add an extra meal during the day if you
feel too hungry...and stick with softer foods the first 6 weeks to allow
time to heal, and you should be great!

Thanks to everyone that responded. I have started writing down everything
that I eat and it's calories, fat, carbs and protein. This is a great way
to keep track and to know that I am doing ok. Compared to what I was eating
before I'm barely eating anything at all.
Thanks again!
