Question:
Hi all :). 9 days post-op today and have lost 3 inches! Ok, so I realize this isn't a big deal to someone who's lost 60 inches or so, but it made me happy :). ANYWAYS, who can really and truly tell me the truth about those non-impact carbs? I've done loads of research, and from what it looks like, those non-impact carbs are still bad little guys! They can come from various sources, including oats and oat flour (both of which my surgeon insists we NOT eat), and don't appear to be as innocent as some people think. Anyone have the real truth? Sweeteners, such as sugar alcohols, are now considered non-impact carbs.
They don't make you fat, don't make your blood sugar move. The regs changed
a year ago & mass confusion has resulted.

Hi again. I'm the original poster. Thanks, Michelle, for your answer.
I've reposted this question because for some reason the
"Question" line is blank. Hopefully the repost won't be the same
way. So, y'all ignore this post and put all of your very welcome answers
on the other one that is supposed to be named "Impact vs Non-Impact
Carbs" (or something close to it). THANKS :) SuzAnne in Utah

If I'm not mistaken fiber can also be construed as a non-impact carb. Take
the total carbs and deduct the fiber for an actual carb count. Michelle?
(I'm feeling insecure today LOL).
