Question:
Can you have a baby after TT?
I have a hernia, which will need repair within the next few months. My doctor thought that we could potentially do a TT at the same time as the hernia repair, but I'm planning on trying to have a baby within the next year or two. Has anyone else had a child after a TT? Or for that matter, has anyone had a baby after a hernia repair? I'd hate to turn the TT down if I can get it, but don't want to screw up any chances for having a baby, either. Help! — gina C. (posted on December 18, 2002)

My doctor's nurse who had WLS several years ago recently had a baby and she
had had a TT also. Having a TT doesn't prevent you from having a baby, you
just might stretch it out and need a re-do. I posted my opinion on this
subject in the thread above or below this one.

My surgeon made me promise not to have a baby for at least a year after my
TT, saying that the muscles can take that long to heal fully and by getting
pregnant too soon could ruin his handiwork (lol). That wasn't an issue
with me since I am done having kids anyway...but that was his guideline.
Have a Sparkling Day!!
