Question:
What to do with soy nuts?
I'm a huge fan of salted nuts, especially plain salted almonds. However, I recently purchased some plain soy nuts at the store, and found them to be extremely "bland" and tasteless!!! Does anyone have any suggestions on how to "doctor" them up, so they're more appetizing and tasty??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! — Julie K. (posted on November 5, 2002)

There are several recipes for Holiday Nuts, Spicy Nuts, etc. on ichef.com.
These would probably work if you substituted soy nuts. Basically, you
could just toss them with some melted butter, sprinkle with seasoned salt,
and bake on a sheet pan like you were making Chex Mix or something! Good
luck! I haven't tried soy nuts yet!

My sister loves to throw them in her salads.

Our state fair had soy nuts in a variety of flavors. I thought they were
quite tasty. Try placing them on a cookie sheet (a use for an obsolete
utensil <g>), spraying with Pam or some such spray, then lightly
dusting with garlic, Italian seasoning, or onion salt/powder; these flavors
were at the fair. They also had made a mixed nut combo with them as well.
Hope this helps.

I buy barbecue soy nuts at Wal Mart. They are wonderful - remind me of
barbecued potato chips. Is there anyreason that you don't eat our almonds.
I eat nuts all the time.
