Question:
Do you have a quick and easy tip to make something taste better?
I just wondered if any of you have any great quick tips on how to improve the taste of something, anything. I love my SF hot cocoa but have found that it tastes so much better with a little bit of powdered milk mixed with it. Please share your tips, I would love some new great ideas. — Laurel C. I use all the regular spices I always did so my food tastes good. I add a
little bit of milk as I don't like that watery taste in chocolate drinks.

I add cinnamon to my cocoa. Also, I have found adding a tablespoon of
lemon juice to most soups(not creme type), really brings the flavors
together superbly.

I have found cottage cheese to be a great source of protein but it is just
so bland! It tastes much better with some freshly ground black pepper on
it! After all the sweet stuff I had in the first 4 weeks (CIB, SF pudding,
jello, SF popsicles) all I crave now is spicy, spicy, spicy!!

The secret to the tastes we humans crave is salt, sweet and greasy. I add
salt, honey or butter to anything to make it taste better. However, I have
found that most foods have a wonderful taste all their own. I couldn't eat
yellow peppers without dill dip, until I did a little investigational taste
testing. Found out they actually taste better without the dip...all
crunchy, slightly bitter and yet sweet. I also am a fan of garlic,
horseradish and curry. I love rice, potatoes or noodles with curry. Have
fun! Remember, cooking is a chance to play with nature's chemistry, fire
and knives!!!

Hi. I found that adding a little fruit yougart to cottage cheese improves
the taste plus it adds your fruit and some more protein. I have also found
that Whey 24 (Protein Powder) with skim milk (instead of water) and a
little bit of fresh strawberries and Pineapple makes a great meal.

In the drink catagory, I love 3 oz. pineapple juice put into a blender with
1/4 cup cottage cheese. The first thing in the morning, I mix 8 oz. hot
skim milk, 1/2 scoop Designer Protein (natural), 1 T. International sf/ff
coffee (or any instant). I put it in a blender to froth it up.

with sugar free cocoa, I found a little skim milk added to it tastes great,
adding some fat free cool whip (check the sugar content first) another
thing that tastes good on cocoa it a scoop of sugar free Ice cream makes it
better and for regular foods adding some Mrs. Dash really improves the
flavor without all the salt

sugar free chocolate milk powder, a dahs of vanilla (or any extract that
makes you happy -- coconut gets me through a lot), sugar free flavor
syrups, salsa, spices, spices, spice blends, herbs ... and finally just a
littl salt substitute or even real salt.. and pepper. Sometimes I just
forget to season food and that does help.

I am gonna have to try the cottage cheese/pineapple juice drink! Add some
coconut extract and yum that sounds good! I like to add lime juice and
splenda to cottage cheese. Also a little Special K makes cottage cheese or
ricotta very tasty and adds crunch. When my DH makes dinner he often
forgets that I need hi protein, so I usually add 1/4 cup of shredded cheese
to a small portion of whatever he fixed and nuke it for a few seconds in
the microwave. My favorite seasoning is Spike, which can be purchased with
or without salt. It is great on any kind of meat--makes steak taste
wonderful!
