Question:
I was wondering how much I should be eating in ozs and times at 8 months post op
I am almost 8 months post op on Sept. 17th. I am still wondering how much I should be eating now. How much in ozs and how many times, and am wondering what types of foods are other fellow 8 months post ops eating. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you. — tatterpuddin (posted on September 12, 2002)

I don't know if, at 8 months, there is a certain amount in ounces that you
should be eating. I am 10 months post op and can eat just about anything
only in smaller amounts. My tummy tells me when I am full. At 8 months, you
should be eating anything that agrees with you.

I think the key as you get further post op is to maintain the small,
frequent, high-protein meals. I had a major appetite and pouch size
increase at about 7 months right on the heels of an increased tolerance for
sugar. ARGH! I plateaued for a couple months trying to sort out my new
routine as I kind of went carb crazy. I finally upped my protein to about
100 grams and added a protein bar as a mid morning snack which seemed to
get me back on track. I just try to eat every few hours and focus on
protein. If you are at or near goal you probably don't need to be as
vigilant about carbs as if you still have some to lose. Hope this helps.
You can email me if you like. I'd be happy to share my experience with you
if you have specific questions. Happy losing!
