Question:
Has anyone tried chromium picolinate?
I am 9 mths post op and weight loss has slowed down. Surgeon suggested trying this. All comments appreciated! — Donna S. (posted on July 13, 2002)

I'm pre-op but from what I read on here, your weight loss slowing after 9
months is normal. But you will continue to lose. As for Chromium
Picolinate, I used to take it. Maybe some people have had success with it.
I didn't. Reminds me of the time my brother went to see his PCP and told
him that he'd once had hypnosis for weight loss. His doctor asked him,
"Did it work?" My brother (all 400+ lbs of him at the time)
answered, "Does it look like it worked?" :-) I never lost weight
with chromium. I felt better taking it but how do I know that wasn't a
placebo effect?

This is a good tool to use any time you are on a high protien diet and
eating low carbs. Dr. Atkin's says to use it. When I was on the atkins
plan I lost weight at a much more steady rate after I started taking it.
If your doctor says to try, I certainly would. I have had good results
with it.

Drink water, it has natural picolinate. Taking the chromium picolinate can
cause your heart to race. My nutritionist is very against use of this
product for that reason.
