Question:
I am 6 1/2 months and I have only lost 51lbs, I get my 60 grams of protein in.

I get 64 oz of water in Mon-Fri when I'm at work, its hard of the weekends. 2 weeks ago I started regular exercise, water aerobics and tae-bo, 5 days a week. I have never dumped and I can tolerate sugar which i am try not to eat too much of. I am having problems updating my profile, I will do that soon. Does anyone have the same problem as me that can tell me what I need to do. Thank You    — tonya B. (posted on May 27, 2002)

Hi, I too am a slow loser. I do excersice and eat correctly almost always. I to can eat anything but try very hard to be good. I hear you on the at work vs. home thing. I slack on the water at home sometimes too. I am 5 months and 50 lbs down. My Dr. says we all lose differently and I started out on the light side (240 lbs and 5'5") He is confidant I will lose to my personal goal of 150 or even 138. It is so hard to see a lot of other people losing so fast but we are all very different. This is not a race but I know it is still hard not to be losing 50 lbs in 3 months. Hang in there and keep doing things right and it will happen. Has you Dr. checked for a breakdown of anything? What did you start at? What type of surgery did you have? Please keep in touch I would like to know how you do. Smiles, Andrea

Hi Tonya- I'm a slow loser too and it can really be frustrating! I am 4 months out and have only lost 44lbs. I'm exercising and eating right and unfortunately I have no food problems. I'm trying really hard to not compare myself to others and just concentrate on myself. I'm to the point where I hardly ever come to this site to read anymore unless I need a question answered. Just keep following the plan and it will work for you. Its alright if it takes us a year or longer to lose the weight as long as it keeps coming off! Good luck to you. Vicki Mize

According to my surgeon, your weight loss rate is perfect!! He expects 50lbs off by 6 months and 100 off by the first year. Don't compare to others! Some will lose faster, others slower. You seem just about average to me. Good luck! Shelley
