Hi there. I just spoke with a 1 year post op of theirs last Wednesday and
asked this EXACT same question. She said their pre-op testing was
contingent upon your family history, medical history, and current health.
As she had no family history or problems herself with high blood pressure
and no family history of heart disease they didn't run any of those tests
(EKG, stress tests, etc). And because she had been researching WLS for 2
years, went in there armed to the gills with knowledge of what WLS will and
won't do for you they didn't even require a psych eval! (Her doc was Dr.
Higga)

I just attended a seminar and they now "require" a psych
evaluation on everybody. They also said that they are not scheduling any
Blue Cross patients for six months as they are THAT booked. You have to
attend the seminar and if it is going to be a while, you should get all of
the pre op testing out of the way, based on your medical history. I am
already doing cardiologist and gastroenterologist just so I won't have to
do it later. Hoping that if it's out of the way, I can be scheduled for
surgey sooner. Good luck.
