Suggestion: buy a little mini-food-processor. Mine is a Proctor Silex,
holds several c. of food, rinse to clean, barely takes up a space on the
counter. I put eat boiled chicken in the processor with fat free sour cream
& fat free miracle whip. Fish, pan cooked in Pam Spray, then in the
processor with the ff Miracle Whip, beans--process for a bean dip, etc.
Even your cottage cheese can be processed. There are many great protein
foods out there. Good Luck!

I have a great web site that I will e-mail to you once I am able to pull it
off the other internet program. We just changed servers and so much of my
stuff is still "tagged" on AOL and when I tried to bring AOL up I
got an error about me modem. Just need hubby to get home and fix the
problem and then I will e-mail the site to you. I will also include a site
for vegetarians as they deal with the problem of finding foods high in
protein all the time. It will give you some ideas on what you can eat
besides meat and also gives some recipies. Take care and hopefully I will
be able to get you the information this evening.

Have you tried thinly sliced deli meat? Turkey or ham is best--roast beef
is hard to digest. Have the deli shave it. You may be able to tolerate
that. Oh, and cheese. I eat LOTS of cheese. I find that my taste has
changed and I like the milder cheeses like monterrey jack and havarti
instead of my old favorite, cheddar.<P>I also detested the protein
shakes. I did like zero carb Isopure, which tastes kind of like kool-aid.
You can get it at GNC. It's expensive but one bottle has 40 grams of
protein and it adds to your daily liquid intake. I also just ordered some
samples of a 2 oz protein liquid from www.vita4life.net. It has 30 grams of
protein in each pouch. I figured it was worth a shot to try for morning and
afternoon snack. Honey-flavor, too--sounds good!

Don't forget the peanuts and beans. They provide protein also.

I'm a big fan of the small cans of pork-n-beans. Just ditch the pork, and
you are good to go! I figure (without the pork) that these are <1 g of
fat, 34 g of carbs (12 g of fiber!), 14 g of sugar (tolerable), and 12 g of
protein ina 260 g serving. Not perfect (better to have protein higher than
carbs and sugar) but certainly better than many things and they go down
really easily. You can get a real protein boost from beenie weenie which
has even more protein... I bet you'd find that more tolerable than many
"straight" meats. Good luck!

Most of the protein powder is really yucky! I sampled about a dozen brands
and found one that tastes pretty darn good: ProScore 100. It comes in
chocolate and vanilla but I like the vanilla better. It's pretty thick so
you need blend it. I use a $10 hand held blender I got at Wal-Mart. It can
be mixed with water, Crsytal Light, yogurt, fruit juice, fruit, etc. You can
order Pro-Score 100 on line from several different venders. email me if you
want some sites where you can buy it.

You might want to try Isopure protein drinks. I just bought some tonight
and I think I can do this. I couldn't do the shakes either. The Isopure
mixes with water and the chocolate flavor is kind of like drinking a
Yoohoo. In fact, my DF put it in a Yoohoo bottle for me to shake up. It
doesnt have that gritty texture or that protein after taste.

I know how you feel about the protein shakes and drinks. I tried many
different kinds and couldn't stomach the taste of any of them. I also
tried a lot of protein bars and finally found one that works for me. Met
Rx protein Plus has 34 grams of protein, 250 calories, 13 carbs and 3
sugars. I like the chocolate roasted pnut and the chocolate fudge. They
are filling so i eat half of one at a time. It gives me a good protein
boost and the taste is not bad at all.
