I called my dr. this week and asked him, I'm only 5 1/2 weeks post op and
he told me to wait 1 or 2 weeks and to chew well.

My surgeon allows "plain" lettuce and tomato salads at 3 weeks
post RNY, and allows the addition of fresh "crunchy" veggies at 6
weeks. I thought it was the most wonderful thing I had ever tasted at the
time :-) I experienced no problems at all. Good luck!

We must have had surgery right about the same time. Mine was 9/26...I have
had no problem with salad. After my 6 week check up they told me not to be
afraid to try things, so I did and no problem!

I'm 8 months post-op but didn't discover the wonderful world of salads
until about 6 months post-op. Prior to that, my pouch was only big enough
for a few pieces of lettuce! Now I can successfully eat about 1/2 of a
chef salad, and it tastes WONDERFUL.
