Question:
How is your pouch affected when you go on amusement park rides?
Ok, so I have a real weird concern. One of my dreams when I lose a good amount of weight after surgery, is to go on all the rides at an amusement park with my hubby and 2 young girls. I love rollercoasters (as far as I can remember) and a lot of scary rides that made my stomach get butterflies. I'm curious for those who are post-op and if anything hurts or gets injured when you go on these rides. I hope I don't hurl! Thanks. — Sally .. (posted on October 7, 2001)

SAlly, it has affected me the same as preop- except I can
go on the rides now as I didnt fit before! I still get a litte
woozy, dizzy, and giggly. You will be fine- no difference!
If you hurled before, you might hurl now- if you didn't before,
you shouldn't now:) Have fun! I do:)

I went on the rides with no problems. The only thing I would mention is you
might not want to do it for the first 8 weeks or so to give your body time
to heal. Some of those rides are kinda jerky!

Personally, I get more nauseated than I used to. I honestly don't know if
that's because of the WLS, or if it's because I'm getting old. ;^) I
do know that I've invested in Dramamine, which helps a
lot.
