My EGD came back saying
I have not gotten my actual typed report from my EGD yet. I did get the hospital to fax my family doctor (where I happen to work) the surgery report. Under post op diagnosis it says "GI wide open , H/H 40/38". The nurse at my office thought this meant my GI track was wide open meaning no narrowing and that the H/H had to do with a hiatal hernia. I did have a hiatal hernia pre-op RNY which was in 11/02 but I thought this was fixed by doing the RNY. I had the EGD because I have been able to eat a lot and have not lost any weight for about 3 1/2 months. I have a large incisional hernia that will be repaired this Friday 9/26 and my surgeon thought if something was wrong with my RNY - enlarged stoma or whatever it could be fixed at that time. I seem to read a lot here that this cannot be repaired. My surgeon said he has never had this happen to anyone. Has anyone had this done ? Or heard of "GI wide open " ? Thanks in advance for any input. Kelly
