1984 Horizontal Stapling failed. Planning Open RNY-Any similar experiences?

The Surgeon at the informational meeting I attended said second surgeries loose slower and don't loose as much. Is this always the case? I'd hate to go thru this again with 2 strikes against me - but so far looks like I will try again, providing my insurance approves...Anyone revised from "old style" simple stapling to RNY with information to share??
