Has anyone gone as far as legal assistance for appeal?

I have been denied WLS and am in the process of sending them several appeals on my own. I am tring to get any of my docs' to write letters of necessity. If these things do not pan out I am thinking of using the law. Has anyone done this and approx how much did it cost and most importantly, DID IT WORK?
