Can you have a gastric bypass after stomach stapling?

I had gastric stapling 11 years ago it did not go well i started having dry heaves with in a couple of hours after surgery, later with a ultra sound they said the staples had puled out l lost about 40lb but soon gained them back would like to know if i can have gastric bypass or is there a better choices thank you amber
