How many feet of intestines are bypassed in Proximal vs distal bypass?

I keep hearing about the proximal vs distal bypass. I know my Dr does the Mini Gastric Bypass and he typically bypasses 6 feet of intestines. I just wonder how this compares. Just want to be as informed as possible.
