Can I take penicillin and vicodin post op?

I am 15 months post op so I should know this but I had a tooth pulled today. The surgeon gave me penicillin and vicodin. I think I had vicodin after wls but I want to make sure since I ended up with 2 bleeding ulcers last year for taking the wrong medications. Thanks!!! Tracy
