Has anyone had emotional issues a year out from surgery?

I have been very emotional lately. Much, much more than normal. My therapist told me that emotions can be held in the cells and that I may be hitting a "pocket" of held in emotions that may have been there for years. Has anyone else heard of or experienced this?
