Hubby and I are only 4 days post-op RNY and have several questions.
Both hubby and I survivied surgery on the same day (last Thursday) and we're home - oh home sweet home!! Except for the first 24 hours when hubby was in ICU as a precautionary step because of his past heart problems, we were even in the same room. :-) Everyone was always soooo surprised to walk in and see us. Now, our questions... Will I always have gas and burping and will it always hurt? Since I had my gallbladder out, is my diarrhea from the gall bladder removal, the RNY surgery or both? Either way, will it return to normal some day? We just started adding our protein supplements today. We are adding about 30 gm of protein twice a day since we had 100 cm bypassed - does that amount sound right? Does anyone have trouble drinking plain water? I can drink Crystal Light and other liquids, but when I drink plain water I can feel it trinkle all the way down and it's somewhat painful. Should I avoid it for a while? We just started full liquids today and had tomato soup with water and some sugar free pudding with fat free milk. One time I saw a site listed with some good recipes for post ops. Would someone mind posting it again or emailing it to me at [email protected]? Thanks everyone for the wealth of information provided here which enabled us to take the big step to do this surgery!!!!
