Have any long term post-ops had thyroid problems?

My husband and I attended our first support group meeting in Gaylord, Mi. and there was a lady seeking information about WLS. She said that she 2 people that she knew that had WLS now have serious thyroid problems. Has anyone had this or even heard of it becoming a problem?
