Can you go to the movies a week after surgery?

This is probably a stupid & trivial issue. If I had to choose one or the other, I'd take the sugery. That's more important to me. My surgery date is exactly one month away - on May 21, 2001. Now I'm just wondering - There will be some new movies in the theaters that my husband & I really want to see, staring this Memorial Day. Being that Mem. Day is about a week after my surgery, is one week after surgery too soon to go out to the movies? If yes, then when is the earliest that I would be able to go? If no, what if any problems might I expect? We usually don't get the popcorn or anything. I usually just bring some water with me. And we would just go see the movie then go home.
