Is morbid obesity considered a pre-existing condition?

I am in the process of selecting an insurance company that will pay for WLS, but was wondering if morbid obesity was a pre-existing condition. I currently have an HMO and was looking to find a personal policy,like BC/BS of Florida as my secondary policy, to cover the surgery. Has anyone run into this problem? I would appreciate any info on ANY personal policy that covers bariatric surgery.
