What can be done 2 years out tough eating

I had bypass surgery two years ago. Since then I have always had a miserable time eating. I always feel no matter what I am eating like everything settles like a lead rock in my stomach. It causes pain and discomfort. For this I have taken in the beginning liquid hydrocodone and not pill form. I really am scared because my tolerance gets higher and higher and I feel the need to medicate more frequently. At this moment I have been out of my medicine for going on 24 hours and it is driving me nuts. Is there anyone out there who can relate or who can help?
