Will a Hernia Prevent Lap Surgery?

Had upper endoscopy and they found a herinia will this prevent lap surgey? They found inflammation dudenum, jejeunm and a herina they say it could be caused by my obesity. what am worryed about is that this will cause me to have open gastric bypass procedure instead of the lap procedure has anybody out there had this problem before surgery and still had lap.
