would it be better to get a banded type WLS if you have hep-C??

I have hep-C and keep getting denied WLS from all the surgeons in my area. They keep saying it is too risky. I was wondering if maybe it would be better to have a banded type surgery as opposed to the rny. would that be any safer? any comments??
