Has anybody ever had their surgery scheduled before they got approval?

Hey guys, I'm freaking out because I just found out I have a date -Feb.8th- but they also said that they haven't gotten insurance approval yet, but not to worry about it. I don't know what that means? Has anybody ever had this happen to them?!?! Also what do I do to calm myself down, I'm terrified and excited at the same time! And it's seriously overwhelming!!
