After approval do I just wait for a date? Will the surgeon handle everything from here?

I have my letter of approval from my insurance company, I was told I have full approval, I have my consultation appt. this month, will I have to send anything elses to the insurance company for more approval or do I just wait for a date now??? and will my surgeon take care of any extra stuff the insurance company needs if any?
