My heart rate is 40 and my doctor is concerned it is too low.

I am now officially somewhat underweight, if you take into account the excess skin. I had rny surgery three years ago and went from 356 to 131. I feel great, but am beginning to worried about my health due to the low heart rate. I am being referred to a cardiologist. I do not do aerobic exercise because of knee problems, so it's not because I am a marathon runner or anything. I eat plenty, but may not get enough protein because I still can't eat meat or fish. My labs are fine. Any ideas?
