7 Days Post-Op--Feedback on severe pain
Last night was my first night home from the hospital. My surgery was Lap RNY, seven days ago. Last night after dinner, I developed the most severe pain in what I guess is the new pouch. I didn't get sweaty or feel faint; it was just the most severe stomach pain I'd ever experienced in my life. It was as though I'd keep eating and eating beyond being full (I had stopped eating before being full, in fact), and was more stuffed than I'd ever imagined. The pain continued for eight hours. I was in tears...nothing I did seemed to help. It would calm down a little and then would begin to ebb again in severe contractions. I didn't throw up, but the feeling was that if I could have, I'd have felt better. This went on, hour after hour. I'd have gone back to the hospital but honestly felt too sick to travel. Finally, the pain eased off enough at about five this morning for me to get a few hours rest. When I woke up, my stomach still feels sore and tender. Any ideas? Thanks so much!
