SHould I continue to try to persuade my surgeon to bypass more?
I am having open RNY on thursday, Aug 5. My BMI is 47. My surgeon, John Pilcher generally does a proximal bypass of 75 cm for folks with my BMI. It seems that many I have talked to have done better with longer bypass. I have questioned him about this but he assures me that I will lose lots of weight with the proximal. Should I let the subject drop or contine pressing the issue. I know that each surgeon does things differently, but I REALLY want this to work. I feel that this is my last chance. Thanks for any input
