Can the BilioPancreatic use staples?

I thought my Doctor said that he staples the stomach to make a one ounce pouch for the biliopancreatic, and makes a two ounce pouch for RNY. Does the biliopancreatic always have a duduonal switch? I would appreciate clarity by some of you that have had the procedures.
