Can we take arthritis medications such as Celebrex post op

I am scheduled for surgery on 9/4. During my pre-op exam my surgeon informed me that I will no longer be able to take any of the medications I have been taking for arthritis. This somewhat concerns me. I have pretty bad arthritis (my fingers already have knots at each joint). Has anyone been in this position and if so what did you do? This is the only thing I am worried about at this point. Please help me all of you wonderful people!
