Anyone with information who has Type 1 diabetes since childhood?

I am looking to speak with someone who has had the surgery or is thinking of having this surgery, who is type 1 dependent. I have had it for almost 20 years and am researching this surgery. I see many notes about people who have type 2 but not much about type 1. I am also on the pump and am 28 years old with a bmi of 41.1. My doctor agrees that this will assist me and make it so much better plus i have many other complications. My worry is after the surgery and the low sugars.. Anyone with any advice or thoughts please let me know. I have a date with the surgeon on July 31st, 2002, for a consultation. Thank you
